GUYSSSSS. Per usual, it's been approximately 1,000 years since my latest post. I'd say I'm sorry but life has been too crazy wonderful to be sad about not posting as often as I like. That being said, I am excited to keep more posts coming your way (especially after wedding season!) I CANT BELIEVE IM GETTING MARRIED IN 23 DAYS. Cue all the butterflies.
Sundays are for blogging! So incredibly happy to have a couple days to recharge my creative juices and kick back. This morning, I finished my Christmas shopping in about 15 minutes via Amazon (thank tha lorddds). poured another cup of coffee and got to thinking about this post. Now that most online deals have settled down, and post black friday madness is done for another year, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite accessories that didn't even need a clearance or sale tag to end up in my shopping bag this season.
I have been dying to do this blog post (and share it with you of course!) Recently, I have discovered so many new and amazing products that have totally changed my beauty routine. Between millions of blogs, Pinterest and Insta there is a never ending stream of the latest 'gotta have it' products flashing before our eyes... which makes it wayyyy too easy (and dangerous) to get your hands on new stuff. As usual - I am looking out for your wallet girl, so I threw in a couple of old, reliable products that are beyond affordable.
I cannot believe it's Thanksgiving week! In approximately two (ish) days we will all be surrounded by family and friends - eating what is most likely 2.5 times our own body weight. #BLESSED. In preparation for elastic pants, inventible wine hangovers and at least 3+ days of regret, I wanted to share some delicious oversized sweaters that will not only keep you comfy (i.e.- belly for sure hanging over pants) - but as always, stylish this Turkey Day.
I don't think I've ever woken up and said - "Today, I'm going to wear leather pants." But after a recent trip to Sora & Company (their winter items are in and it's literally life changing) you can bet your sweet buns I'll be rocking them all winter long! In the past when I ran into leather pants/leggings at a shop - I would stop, hold them out in the air, consider, then quickly return them to the rack thinking - "GURL, your butt will literally look 4D in those things and terrify everyone, including small children". In hind sight, #thickthighssavelives so who's the real winner here?
Do you remember that sketchy eyelash gel that hit the market a couple year back, promising amazing results but warned that it may " change the color of your eyeball?!" Yeah, hard pass from me on that one. Typically, I am pretty skeptical of companies or products that claim to enhance/grow/triple/lengthen eyelash follicles (or any parts of your body for that matter....) However, as I get older and in an effort to maintain my current natural eyelash fabulousness, I have become more and more open to trying out new products. Recently my business partner suggested a brand new lash strengthening serum his wife started using called 'Lash Boost' by Rodan + Fields. After a little more research about this all natural product (that won't turn you into a swamp creature or anything else), I figured why not.
If you've had a consistent hair color most of your life - likely you've wondered if the grass is greener on the other side. The majority of my years have been spent rocking a variety of dark(ishh) shades. Black, Chocolate, Espresso, Brown-Burgundy, Highlights, Lowlights, etc. But last winter, I got a wild hair (literally) and decided I needed to take the ultimate plunge - W H I T E B L O N D E. I've always loved changed, and tend to make fairly spontaneous decisions when it comes to my hair. But, if you like to put some research in before 'lightening up' here are a few thing you should consider; especially if you've had DARK hair for years.
It's that time of year. The leaves are falling, the air has a crisp bitterness to it, and not a damn soul is leaving the house in anything OTHER than a pair of ugg boots. The stores are filled with an endless sea of scarves and outerwear, not to mention pumpkin flavored everything has taken over available shelves. Crafty halloween themed signs lead you down aisles of fluffy fall pillows and throws in every autumn color. You find yourself buying pine scented, cinnamon bun, and creme brûlée candles (even though you have five already at home). What a time to be alive! Now that you're officially in the spirit... let's talk about my 2016 fall fav pieces!
While being stuck in my 2nd of 4 airports today, I realized I haven't written much about our engagement itself. Though this trip may be the longest delayed in history... it has blessed me with several hours to reflect on life's recent events. I've been so busy LIVING offline and focusing on a BILLION different projects, that I haven't made time to write about what has no doubt been the best 10 months of my life (cannot believe we've been engaged that long!). Moving, planning a wedding, working full time, starting a new business... all of which have been nothing short of exhaustingly wonderful.
Last week, Matt & I took our engagement photos and I could not be more pleased with how they turned out. Because of the pandemonium that is our day to day lives, we unintentionally put off taking photos. That and, we have a nearly 2 year total engagement so we didn't feel rushed (which honestly, was pretty nice). After taking about it, we decided we wanted our engagement photos to be something different, but more importantly, reflective of who we are as a couple.
Halloween is only a short week away and if you're a huge procrastinator, like me, you're probably still in the market for a last minute costume. Just because you don't have the time (or let's be honest - the money) for a crazy elaborate costume does not mean you have to forgo the fun. Tonight, I wanted to share some of my more recent (and slightly spooky) Halloween makeup looks that you can most definitely D.I.Y. Each look took under 45 minutes can be nearly 100% accessorized by shopping your own closet. Plus, aren't we all a little sick of seeing everyone's butt cheeks on Halloween? I know I am. Hence, scary it is.
