Any trip to a Michaels craft store pretty much throws me into a Holiday frenzy. If anything else, this festive trance was amplified by the fact that today is the SATURDAY after thanksgiving. AKA, a crafters favorite day of the year. I know what you're thinking -"But isn't Black Friday the best day ever to buy anything like-ever?!"
Because while people are busy killing each other over the latest 3D tv's at Best Buy you are snuggled in your bed blissfully waiting for the next afternoon to wander the craft store aisles that have been left perfectly UN-RAVAGED. AND did I mention everything is still on major sale/clearance? Y U P.
Awhile back, I bought a few cheap, small and simple square canvases for future use (I know, I'm basically a glorified hoarder) and have been patiently looking for the 'right' way to repurpose them. Recently, I have seen a TON of adorable holiday signs and canvases going for about $25 - $70 bucks. I'm sorry, but no. I wish I had enough money to transform my entire house into the Christmas addition of Pottery Barn catalog but some dreams aren't meant to come true. That being said, I spotted some gold glitter letters (on cute cardboard backing) and knew I could create a similar design for much, MUCH less.
