I wanted to share with you all a few more of my latest living room DIYs. I have been having SO much fun lately hunting down treasures for our new space. I wanted my living room to feel light, bright, airy, but most of - AFFORDABLE. (I may be out of college,, but I refuse to pay $70.00 for a decorative horse bust...sorry Pier 1.)
Below are a couple snapshots of my latest creations.
Handsome Horse: This is one of my favorite and easiest DIY's thus far. This unique horse bust was a prize at a friend's birthday party, but lacked the snazzy that I needed. A quick coat of gold spray paint gave it the high end look I was aiming for, without the sticker shock of similar store bought figures. The yellow-gold curtains in the background were chosen by my boyfriend (I know, I'm impressed too). A fresh orange flower pot from the Good Food Store rounds out my end table.
You & Me: Okay, so this may be my second favorite DIY art piece. I was thrifting down in the Bitterroot after work last week and found some large gold frame with the WORST old fashioned fruit painted on them (it's honestly a tragedy that I didn't snap a pic before covering them in black matting). Once concealed, I added these simple wooden signs over top from Michaels Craft Store. Total project cost = $17.00. And hey, I think they are pretty cute.
