I have been dying to do this blog post (and share it with you of course!) Recently, I have discovered so many new and amazing products that have totally changed my beauty routine. Between millions of blogs, Pinterest and Insta there is a never ending stream of the latest 'gotta have it' products flashing before our eyes... which makes it wayyyy too easy (and dangerous) to get your hands on new stuff. As usual - I am looking out for your wallet girl, so I threw in a couple of old, reliable products that are beyond affordable.
So a little background - concealer is a big deal for me. Whether it's dark circles or acne scars/marks I always am in the market for the best coverage around. For heavy duty issues, my favorite is still BOI-ING by Benefit. It could probably cover a full color tattoo if need be. Super thick, and legit for $20. When it comes to everyday coverage though, you cannot do better than NYX's HD Photo Concealer ($4.99). I actually didn't know that it came in SO many colors, but now have to try those out as well. I typically buy the lightest shade and use it all over after applying my liquid foundation. Shop HERE.
YAY. HIGHLIGHTER. I adore trying out new highlighters. It's an addiction. A game. Which one is going to basically make my face look like a sparkle, unicorn moon beam?! When my current highlight runs out I quickly get to researching other peoples' favorites before making a new selection. On insta lately, I've seen some more hype about Colour Pop cosmestics, so naturally I had to take a peek. After comparing colors and sheen I decided on this gorgeous shade called 'LUNCH MONEY'. I could not be happier! 1. It cost me only $8.00. 2. It's essentially powdered champagne for your cheeks. Gotta have it? Shop HERE.
Ever have one of those awful, under the skin zits that is threatening to pop up right before a special event? Or just like, a regular Thursday? Yeah, me too. Over the years, I have tried many quick acne gels/creams for overnight redness reduction, etc. but this is by far the best one I've found. I put a little on any existing zits or spots that look suspicious at bed time. For only $3.99 from your local Target you too can keep those pimples in their place.
THIS IS IT. One of my all time, hands down fav products. I used to be a slave to Urban Decay's setting spray, which is no lie - AH-mazing, but also crazy expensive ($30.00). When my wallet needed a break, I discovered NYX's Matte Finish long lasting finish spray and fell in love!. At only $7.99, you get almost IDENTICAL quality and lasting power. Plus they come in two finishes - matte and dewy. I am an oil monster, so matte was obviously my only option, but I've heard good things about the dewy version too. Need it now? Shop HERE.
This no-frills product is a HUGE must have for me. Vaseline makes a product specially designed for lips, but I've found that the orginal stuff (that comes in the obnoxiously large tub) is the absolute best treatment for raw & dry lips. I slather some on at night before going to bed and when I wake up - BOOM. Silky smooth smoochers. Buy a container anywhere for about $1.97
I bought a couple new tubes of Mac lipstick when I was traveling for work recently (Montana is a Mac Free zone - which is a whole other conversation), and I am OBSESSED with this lippies. On the left is VIVA LA GLAM lV. It is the perfect shade of terracotta, with a hint of plum and a pearl sheen. I've been wearing it a lot this fall because it's just right - not too dark, not too light and compliments an olive skin tone. On the left is PRETTY PLEASE. Can I just communicate what a versatile lipstick this is. It's a gorgeous shade of light pearly pink. The best part? You can layer it over basically ANY color to add a little dimension and sass. Each lipstick is $17.00 (more than I typically would spend, but the quality is noticable).
That's right. Good, old, fashioned Hydrogen Peroxide. You most likely have at least two bottles of this stuff hiding in some back cabinet gathering dust. Break that bad boy out, and whiten your teeth on the CHEAP! I like to wet my toothbrush with a little peroxide and brush over my teeth quickly. Stay away from your gums and DO NOT swallow. Spit out any excess and rise your mouth. Now brush your teet with toothpaste . I notice results after only 1-3 applications. Bonus - a bottle costs $0.89.
Beauty blenders have always confused me. Like what? I had NO idea what I was doing. So I finally decided to put my pride on a shelf, do some research and buy one off of Amazon. PS you have to dampen the sponge BEFORE applying and blending liquid foundation. :) Now that I have the workings down, I can honestly say I love using a beauty blender to blend my undereye concealer. It looks softer and so much more perfect than using your finger or a brush. You can find a similar one HERE on Amazon for about $8.00.
